MSICG PRESENTS COMPLAINT AGAINST MAGISTRATES OF THE COURT OF APPEALS CHAMBER
Today, July 15th 2013, the Guatemalan Union, Indigenous and Peasant Movement –MSICG- presented a complaint against the Magistrate of the First Chamber of the Court of Appeals of Labor and Social prevision AURA NELLY GARCÍA DE LEÓN, CARLOS RONALDO PAIZ XULÁ y NIDIA VIOLETA DOMÍNGUEZ TZUNUM for the crimes of LEGAL PREVARICATION, MALICIOUS DELAY, BREACH OF DUTIES, MISSAPROPRIATION, ABUSE OF AUTHORITY, RESOLUTIONS IN VIOLATION TO CONSTITUTION, CONSPIRACY, ILLEGAL ASSOCIATION and against the representative of the Tributary Administration Superintendent’s Office, JORGE MARIO DE LEÓN JUÁREZ for the crimes of MISSAPROPRIATION, CONSPIRACY AND ILLEGAL ASSOCIATION.
This complaint is part of a series of processes started by MSICG due to the existence of enough evidence elements to determine crimes committed in coordination by several public officials, among them the Minister of Labor and Social Prevision (whose pre-trial is waiting to be sent to the Congress of the Republic by the Supreme Court of Justice), the Director and General Inspector of Labor, all this in order to grant impunity in the violations of the workers’ rights, especially with regards to disarticulation union structures.
MSICG calls again the attention of ILO and CICIG with regards of the grave issue that the labor justice system is weakened through the institution of factual conditions that use crime as a way to grant impunity in the violation of labor rights, and at the same time it hopes that the Supreme Court of Justice will not put obstacles for the adequate and immediate investigation of these structures in order to guarantee a quick and reliable justice that’s complied with.
El MSICG ratifica su compromiso con la construcción de la democracia y el estado de derecho así como su firme convicción de que es impostergable el rescate de la institucionalidad del Estado de derecho de todos los vicios y prácticas que ha debilitado la confianza de la población en la justicia.
